Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell’s reunion in Dallas has the internet on fire.
However, the truth about their Texas outing has now been revealed.
A source told TMZ that the “Twisters” actor and the “Euphoria” star did not attend his sister’s wedding as a couple. Instead, Sweeney and her best friend RSVP’d for the nuptials months before she called off her wedding to fiancé Jonathan Davino.
The insider told the outlet that Sweeney, 27, is “very good friends with the Powell family” and has been “very close” to Powell’s younger sister “for a long time.”
Reps for both Sweeney and Powell did not respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.
On Sunday, DeuxMoi shared photos of the “Anyone but You” co-stars enjoying a meal alongside friends at Joe Leo Fine Tex Mex over the weekend.
Insiders told the gossip blog that Sweeney landed in the Lone Star State for Powell’s sister’s wedding and also joined his family at brunch, which the “Top Gun: Maverick” actor, 36, skipped.
Last week, news surfaced that the “Immaculate” actress called off her wedding to Davino, 41, as they battled “major issues” in their relationship.
“Sydney and Jonathan have been having major issues but are not fully split,” a source told Us Weekly last Wednesday.
“Things are not great right now, but they aren’t throwing in the towel yet. They are working on their relationship but have called off the wedding for now.”
The insider added that all wedding plans had come “to a halt” and that the couple wasn’t “having further discussions about it.”
Sweeney and Davino were “supposed to get married this spring” but the source said she “wanted to cancel everything” because she couldn’t handle the stress.”
Additionally, the “Handmaid’s Tale” alum’s “extremely busy” career allegedly “caused tension” in their romance.
Sweeney and the producer began dating in 2018.
In 2022, she was spotted wearing a massive diamond sparkler on that finger, and People later confirmed the pair had gotten engaged.
Meanwhile, Powell and Sweeney raised eyebrows with their flirty banter and close relationship while they filmed their 2023 romantic comedy, “Anyone but You,” a film Davino co-produced.
However, the “Madame Web” actress dispelled the rumors, saying she and Powell were just trying to generate buzz for the film.
“That’s what people want! Glen and I don’t really care,” she told Variety in August 2023. “We have so much fun together, and we respect each other so much; he’s such a hard worker, and I’m a hard worker.”
She added, “They want it. It’s fun to give it to ’em.”
