Toys and Colors. J House jr. Zach D. Films. LearnToon. If you follow our U.S. Top 50 charts each week, then these names have become familiar as regular entrants within the top five. Over the past two months, they’ve consolidated their positions, creating a sort of stasis in our American charts. This week, Toys and Colors is still on top of the heap with 706.4 million weekly views.

The initial rise of YouTube Shorts brought a period of change to the U.S. Top 50, but that format has now settled down and its biggest players have been revealed. To find some unique entrants in the ranking, we have to look further down the chart. That’s where we find creators who are using long-form streams — cut into minute-long Shorts — to move in Toys and Colors’ direction.
Kai Cenat and JSchlatt are “succesful” on Twitch
A channel that caught my eye in this week’s U.S. Top 50 is Succesful Celebrity. Yes, that’s “succesful” with one s. I guess proper spelling isn’t a requirement for fame these days.
Jokes aside, Succesful Celebrity is experiencing sudden growth in our rankings. After landing outside of the Top 50 seven days ago, it moved up to 35th place in our all-American ranking by reeling in 104.7 million weekly views.
Most of that traffic came on Shorts, but Succesful Celebrity’s most popular clips are condensed versions of stream highlights from top Twitch creators. Kai Cenat, who operates a thriving clip channel of his own, stars in many of Succesful Celebrity’s greatest hits. In fact, it was Cenat’s record-breaking Mafiathon, punctuated by appearances from other succesful celebrities (see what I did there?) that pushed an unaffiliated highlight reel into the U.S. Top 50.
Succesful Celebrity isn’t the only stream recapper thriving on YouTube Shorts. A channel called Big guy is making waves in the ranking by sharing some of the most memorable moments from the streams hosted by JSchlatt. You can find all of JSchlatt’s funniest highlights via Big guy, including the time he lost a chess match to Alex Botez in two moves. And you can find Big guy in the U.S. Top 50 in 44th place.
The popularity of these channels explains why so many platforms are improving their clipping technology. People just want the gist of these long-form streams, and there’s a lot of viewership to be hand for the channels that can provide those recaps.
Channel Distribution
This week, there are 35 YouTube Shorts channels in the U.S. Top 50.
