Welcome to our rundown of the most-watched branded YouTube videos of the week.

We’re publishing this snippet of a larger Gospel Stats Weekly Brand Report in order to analyze sponsorship trends in the creator economy. Any video launched in tandem with an official brand partner is eligible for the ranking.

And – as the name up above would imply – all the data comes from Gospel Stats. If you’re interested in learning more about Gospel – and which brands are sponsoring what creators on YouTube – click here.

After making an appearance last week on Theo Von‘s podcast, JD Vance is back for a three-hour interview with Joe Rogan. Since these videos were both released in the leadup to the presidential election, we now know the outcome–including how Rogan, Von, and Adin Ross were shouted out by UFC CEO Dana White during Donald Trump‘s victory speech. Surreal. As for the rest of the lineup on this week’s Gospel Stats Weekly Brand Report, we depart from politics into baseball, science, a splash of art, and one of the internet’s favorite video games.

Check it all out right here:

#1 Joe Rogan Experience #2221 – JD Vance
Channel: PowerfulJRE
Brand: Athletic Greens, Call of Duty
Views: 16,488,836

Like we mentioned above, VP candidate JD Vance did a bit of a podcast tour in the weeks before the election, and it seems to have paid off for the Trump campaign. His appearance on Joe Rogan‘s podcast resulted in a lengthy interview that fared well with YouTube commenters, many of whom said they were skeptical of Vance originally, but had been swayed hearing him speak to Rogan. “That is one of the most coherent, straightforward conversations I’ve seen from any politician in years. Simple language, no BS, no rabbit holes, no circles or dodging question. An honest conversation between men,” one commenter wrote. Maybe Vance will keep doing podcasts once he’s in office. Either way, this episode was brought to listeners/viewers by frequent podcast sponsor Athletic Greens, as well as the new entrant in the long-running Call of Duty franchise, Black Ops 6.

#2 Dodgers vs. Yankees World Series Game 5 Highlights (10/30/24) | MLB Highlights
Channel: MLB
Brand: Evan Williams Bourbon
Views: 4,404,438

Here at Tubefilter we’ve written a lot about how live sports are an enduring human pastime that are getting more and more real estate on digital platforms, from YouTube to Netflix. The MLB (which has done content deals with YouTube for years) shows just how popular good old baseball can be: Its 15-minute highlights reel from the Dodgers vs Yankees World Series finale got over 4 million views. That’s a pretty decent chunk compared to the game’s live TV viewership of 18.6 million people. This recap vid is a neat trailing monetization opportunity both for the MLB and its sponsor, Evan Williams Bourbon, which has been partnered with the league since 2016.

#3 We Fell For The Oldest Lie On The Internet
Channel: Kurzgesagt – In a Nutshell
Brand: 80,000 Hours
Views: 4,158,351

We’ve all heard it: “If you take all the [small intestine, large intestine, veins, etc] out of your body and stretch them, they’ll [be a mile long, stretch around the earth, etc].” It’s a common way for biology explainers to help people understand the scale of their own bodies. But are those measurements actually accurate? Science channel Kurzgesagt is back on our Weekly Brand Report to investigate whether a single person’s blood vessels taped together could be 100,000 kilometers long–enough to wrap around the Earth twice. Kurzgesagt says it’s reported this number several times before, including in videos and in creator Philipp Dettmer‘s 2021 book Immune. “We’ve used it so often, but where did we get this number from? And how do we know it’s true?” the channel asks. Its 13-minute deep dive into answering those questions is sponsored by 80,000 Hours, a London-based career research and advice nonprofit.

#4 I Drew Every Day for 365 Days….. *it was painful*
Channel: PewDiePie
Brand: NordVPN
Views: 3,560,052

In a world where AI proponents claim generators like Midjourney are accessibility tools that can help people who can’t draw finally make art, PewDiePie put in a solid year of work to show that anyone can improve their drawing skills with time and practice. This video was originally intended to be a 30-day experiment where he would draw every day and compare his first day’s skills to his last day’s skills–but, he says, people in the comments were so encouraging that he decided to keep going. Now, after 365 days straight of drawing, he’s uploaded his full progress video, and the change from Day 1 to Day 364 is pretty wild. The vid is sponsored by frequent creator partner NordVPN, which also paid for 34 other uploads this week.

BONUS #1,055 Who Is The Hardest Champion To Play? | League of Legends
Channel: Vars
Brand: Opera
Views: 77,688

Ah, League of Legends. It’s one of the sweatiest player-versus-player games out there, and has a roster of over 160 playable characters, all with their own ability kits. But out of all those characters, which is the biggest glass cannon? That’s what Vars sat down to find out. This video is a goldmine to gamers, but we also chose to highlight it because the second season of Arcane, the wildly successful animated origin story based on League of Legends lore, just debuted on Netflix. After just two days of being live on the streamer, Season 2’s first three episodes have absolutely dominated Netflix’s catalog, becoming its #1 show in over 60 countries.

…and there’s a lot more data where that came from. If you’re interested in learning more about Gospel – and which brands are sponsoring what creators on YouTube – click here.
