Lupita Nyong’o and Joshua Jackson’s hot romance has cooled down.
The “Black Panther” star revealed she’s single while discussing her cat, Yoyo, in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar UK published on Wednesday.
“My love for my cat is singular. If I’m ever so lucky to be in a romantic relationship again, it’ll be because of him,” she said.
“I was ready to shut that door and lock it and bolt it. He has ensured that my heart remains open.”
Page Six has reached out to Jackson’s rep for comment.
Nyong’o adopted Yoyo from the Best Friends Animal Society in October 2023 after she and sports commentator Selema Masekela split.
Coincidentally, she and Jackson were first linked that month when they were spotted at a Janelle Monáe concert in Los Angeles.
The pair confirmed their romance when they held hands while taking a stroll in Joshua Tree, Calif., in December 2023.
They proved their relationship was more than just a fling when they passionately kissed on the beach in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, as they celebrated Nyong’o’s 41st birthday in March of this year.
Jackson, 46, was also newly single. His estranged wife, Jodie Turner-Smith, filed for divorce in October 2023 after four years of marriage.
The “Queen & Slim” star, 38, broke her silence on her ex’s new relationship in June, saying, “I truly hope they’re happy and that it benefits us as a family.”
While Nyong’o did not mention her relationship with Jackson while speaking to Harper’s Bazaar UK, she did reflect on her public split from Masekela.
“It’s hard enough to go through heartbreak privately,” the Oscar winner said.
“When the world has an image of you in relation to someone else, it prolongs the healing process because the memory is emblazoned in the public domain.”
After she and Masekela called it quits, Nyong’o admitted she was in “a season of heartbreak because of a love suddenly and devastatingly extinguished by deception.”
She also stated that she could “no longer trust” her ex.
