Katy Perry has announced her upcoming single ‘I’m His, He’s Mine’ featuring Doechii – check out the posts below.

The collaborative song will serve as the third preview of the pop star’s forthcoming new album ‘143’, which is due for release on September 20 (pre-order here). It’ll follow on from her previous tracks ‘Woman’s World’ and ‘Lifetimes’.

Taking to social media last night (September 11), Perry announced that her team-up with rapper/singer Doechii would be arriving on Friday, September 13. She also shared a brief snippet of the single’s accompanying music video.

Additionally, Perry and Doechii debuted ‘I’m His, He’s Mine’ during the former’s career-spanning performance at the 2024 MTV VMAs last night (watch above). Perry was awarded the prestigious Video Vanguard prize at the ceremony.

Speaking about ‘143’ earlier this year, she explained: “It’s a dance party and everyone’s invited.”

Perry later debuted three unreleased tracks from the project – ‘Crush’, ‘Nirvana’ and ‘Gorgeous’ – during an intimate show at the Evita in Los Angeles, California.

Her label last month responded to reports that she was under investigation over potential environmental damage caused during the ‘Lifetimes’ video shoot, which allegedly contained unauthorised filming on the Balearic Islands.

Meanwhile, Perry has addressed the backlash she’s faced since working with Dr Luke on ‘143’.

Her latest studio album, ‘Smile’, came out in 2020. NME reviewed the LP at the time, giving it two stars: “It’s frustrating, as this is the woman behind some of the most fun – and biggest-selling – songs of all time.

“But as much as you want ‘Smile’ to be a return to form, her fifth album’s songs fail to grip. All in all, ‘Smile’ lacks the fireworks of Perry’s record-breaking years.”
