It’s a long rhode to the Met Gala—just ask Hailey Bieber.
After all, the Rhode Skin founder has learned how to navigate the annual fashion gathering with ease. Between nailing the dress code and wardrobe snafus, Hailey has seen it all.
In fact, the black Saint Laurent dress she wore in 2021 was still being sewed moments before she and husband Justin Bieber stepped out onto the red carpet.
“I am really OCD and crazy about the way things fit,” Hailey explained during an Ellen DeGeneres Show appearance later that year, “so we were kind of tailoring it to the very last day and the very last second.”
That meant she couldn’t necessarily “sit or move in a weird way” before ascending the iconic steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Arts in New York City.
“It’s such an intense big carpet that you don’t want it to wrinkle,” Hailey said of her dress, which featured a plunging neckline. “So, I stood in the car the whole way.”
