Billy Baldwin and his wife, Chynna Phillips, are living life on their terms.
The singer revealed why they don’t live together as she FaceTimed with Baldwin in a YouTube video posted on her channel Sunday.
“We just need a little time apart because we are sort of an allergy to one another,” Phillips said. “And it’s OK. I’m sure lots of different couples are allergies to each other.”
Baldwin, 61, then chimed in and claimed it’s actually his wife who prefers to be away from him — not the other way around.
Phillips lives in Santa Barbara, Calif., while Baldwin resides in Beverly Hills, and they occasionally “flip flop” locations.
She said they still go to therapy, have date nights and “sleepovers.”
Although they stay in touch, they aren’t “forcing [themselves] to be subjected to each other’s energy 24/7.”
“I’m very happy with giving this a shot. … Billy is a bit more reticent about the whole thing,” Phillips said.
The mother of three also explained they “cherish” their 29-year marriage and have no intentions of separating.
“I think that we’re onto something. I really do, because we enjoy each other’s company,” she said.
“It’s so hard to articulate to people that we’re madly in love,” the musician, 56, added.
However, Phillips — who tied the knot with Baldwin in 1995 — admitted to having less “patience” for her spouse of late.
“You’ve noticed that my patience has faltered over the past year and a half,” she told the actor. “Like, my threshold and my bandwidth for your energy has definitely decreased.”
Back in January, she also confessed her marriage to Baldwin has been “a real struggle.”
“I’ve been with Billy for 32 years and we have an awesome marriage, but we definitely had the hardest couple years of our marriage these past couple of years. It has been a real struggle,” Phillips said at the time.
The couple shares three children: Brooke, 19, Vance, 23, and Jameson, 24.
