LISA and Tayme Thapthimthong have undeniable chemistry on White Lotus — but could that also transfer over into the studio someday? The latter is down to find out.
In an interview with E! News following the climactic premiere of season three’s finale Sunday (April 6), Thapthimthong reacted to the possibility of working with the BLACKPINK star on music now that their onscreen work together is over. “Oh I don’t know,” he began.
“I would love to,” the actor continued to the outlet. “But I think it’s up to her management to decide if I’m kind of allowed to do that. But that would be amazing.”
Thapthimthong’s role as security guard Gaitok on Mike White’s hit Max series has been something of a breakout moment for the British actor, who says he’s now gearing up to focus more on music following the conclusion of season three. Fans got to see him show off his vocals in a cute video with LISA posted a few days prior to the finale, with the actor singing Blackstreet and Dr. Dre’s “No Diggity” with some professional help from the K-pop star. On the show, LISA plays Mook, another employee of the titular fictional hotel chain’s Thailand location on whom Thapthimthong’s character has a big crush.
The Skin Trade star also would’ve been able to flex his skills during the White Lotus cast’s off-the-clock karaoke parties. In a recent Teen Vogue video with LISA, the pair revealed their favorite songs to sing when taking the mic — “Photograph” by Ed Sheearan for Thapthimthong and Taylor Swift’s “You Belong With Me” for the “Rockstar” singer.
“I’m just really emotional right now,” Thapthimthong added to E! of the show’s finale. “I’ve never been on something like this, and it’s such a big jump from my whole career to this. And I appreciate all of you guys, like, coming up and saying, ‘Well done.’ It’s amazing.”
