If you’re reading this, chances are emilycc is live on Twitch right now.
We recently wrote about how, in the current creator industry paradigm, streamers seem to always be upping the ante, putting on bigger and bigger spectacles in an effort to grab more and more eyeballs. There’s perhaps no better example than Kai Cenat, who’s on day 27 of “Mafiathon 2,” a monthlong, 24/7 subathon that’s so far featured celebrity guests like Snoop Dogg, Serena Williams, Bill Nye, Soulja Boy, Chris Brown, SZA, and Lizzo.
The subathon has already snagged Cenat the new record for highest number of simultaneous Twitch subscriptions: 500,000+. He and VTuber Ironmouse have been trading that record back and forth with their respective subathons; she set it at over 321,000 during her own 30-day 24/7 stream in September, beating Cenat’s former record of 306,621, which he set during the first Mafiathon in February 2024.

Now, Cenat’s raised the bar again—and while it’s nothing to sneeze at, being live 24 hours a day for 27 days straight, there’s another Twitch streamer who’s been on camera far, far longer.

Cenat (and subathon guest Benny Blanco) found emilycc while browsing Twitch, and quickly realized she’d been streaming 24/7 for over 1,100 days. “Three years!” Cenat shouted. “She’s been live for three years!”
Viewers flocked from Cenat’s stream to emilycc’s, telling her she’d gotten a shout-out. She ended up getting in a call with Cenat and chatting with him while he was still broadcasting, and the attention helped boost her channel up to over 280,000 followers and 10,000 subscribers—a new record for her.
She later spoke to Complex, telling the publication she joined Twitch eight years ago at just 19 years old. Her original goal was to stream World of Warcraft and find a community, because “I needed friends and I had, like, a really crappy job at CVS,” she said. “And so I just looked at Twitch as a way to make friends and maybe a little money, too. Like, I didn’t even expect to make anything, but I made $2 and it was really cool.”
Her 24/7 livestream started, like Cenat’s, as a subathon. Except her subathon didn’t have an end date; instead, it allowed viewers to extend the time she would spend live by doing things like gifting subs and sending donations. She started broadcasting in November 2021, and so far has been live for 26,800 hours–or 1,116 days straight. That’s Twitch’s longest livestream ever, and she’s still going.
When she’s awake, she plays games like WoW, Fortnite, The Last of Us, and Red Dead Redemption, or uses an IRL stream setup to take chat out on chores and strolls with her. When she’s asleep (which she is, when we check out her stream), her webcam is aimed at her bed, and viewers are entertained by interactive games like Words on Stream that run automatically.
“I’ve slept on stream for a thousand days,” she told Complex. “I’d go out, I’d go to the grocery store, I’d go shopping, I’d walk my dog. At this point, I’ve done everything—like indoor skydiving.”
“I really feel like the subathon has honestly helped me,” she added. “Just being home, being myself, becoming a better me. It’s like some form of therapy.”
While it’s cool to see emilycc get attention for her accomplishment, we’re surprised she hasn’t gotten wider acclaim before. She had more than 160,000 followers by the time Cenat discovered her, but had only peaked at around 600 concurrent viewers, according to data from Streams Charts. (Now her peak is over 11,000 followers, and when we check her stream for this piece, she’s got nearly 1,000 people watching her sleep.) You’d think the longest-running stream on Twitch might get more recognition from the platform itself, either through discoverability features—something Twitch still can’t get a handle on—or through Twitch seeing her stats and giving her a nod.
But emilycc is on the map now, with Cenat’s support. He’s offered to buy her a new streaming setup, and is urging QTCinderella to spotlight her at the next Streamer Awards.
