Rob Lowe has still got it!
The 61-year-old actor showed off his trim physique after ditching his shirt for a run along the beach in Montecito, Calif., on Easter Sunday.
Lowe worked up a sweat in a pair of red shorts and a backward hat of the same color. He tucked a blue T-shirt into the waistband of his shorts as he got some sun on his chest, resulting in a slight burn.
Despite showing off his fit frame, the “Outsiders” star jokingly told paparazzi he is “not the man [he] used to be.”
Lowe has credited his youthful looks to healthy diet, consistent exercise and getting “tons of sleep.”
In February 2024, he told USA Today that he gets “an embarrassing amount” of shut-eye each night.
“I have it down to a science. The eye mask, the Bose noise-canceling headphones. And I’m gone,” he told the outlet, noting that “it’s a lot of sleep” but not quite “12 hours.”
The “St. Elmo’s Fire” star embraced a low-carbohydrate, high-protein diet when he was in his 30s and hasn’t looked back since — despite wishing he could eat “nothing but pies and milkshakes” all day.
“It makes a big difference. You’re only as good as what you eat,” he said.
Lowe also has not had alcohol in nearly 35 years, which has been “super-helpful” for his overall health and well-being.
The longtime Atkins spokesperson has turned things up a notch the past couple of years as he fights against Father Time.
“I’m trying to be even more disciplined now as I’m older just because, as you get older, you need to watch what you eat even more than when you were younger,” he told People last year ahead of his 60th birthday.
“So I tried to cut sugar completely as my new year’s resolution. And now I’m figuring, OK, that’s not sustainable for me, but how do I really watch my sugar consumption?”
Although he is still juggling with his diet, Lowe said he felt “better than ever” when it came to his physical fitness.
“I am blessed that I really enjoy physical exertion and adventure,” he said. “So if I’m not on a set, I build my entire day around what activity I’m going to do. It might be a paddle in the ocean, a hike, running sprints on the track, pickleball, tennis. I’m pretty much up for anything.”
While the Brat Pack icon is willing to do whatever it takes to maintain his health, he likely won’t be turning to weight-loss medication anytime soon.
Lowe previously voiced his concerns about potential long-term side effects of semaglutide injections widely popularized amongst Hollywood circles.
“I see people who are taking all the new weight-loss drugs, and that’s great, and it’s really changed their lives, but my concern always is, ‘OK, now what?’” he questioned.
The “Parks and Recreation” alum wondered, “What’s the plan for the longevity of everything?”
