Ally Lewber and James Kennedy have officially called it quits.
Months after the 32-year-old Vanderpump Rules alum was arrested for misdemeanor domestic violence after allegedly picking up his victim and throwing her to the ground, Ally, 29, released a statement on her Instagram Story, sharing what went down between her and James that night and confirming that they are no longer a couple as the Burbank City Attorney’s Office dropped charges against him.
“Thank you all for your support and kindness. I am happy that prosecutors decided not to file against James, as I never desired criminal charges. We had an argument outside of his home related to him drinking again, however, I was not physically hurt. I was shocked by the headlines and disheartened by how the event was portrayed,” she explained on January 22. “We are no longer together, but I’ll always support James and wish him the best with his sobriety and healing.”
“Thank you for your understanding,” she added.
As Ally and James parted ways after about three years of dating, his lawyer, Scott Leemon, told TMZ that the Burbank City Attorney’s Office had informed him they would not be moving forward with their pending charges against James.
“I want to thank them for conducting a thorough and professional review of the matter involving my client, James Kennedy. Their diligent investigation confirmed what we have maintained from the beginning—there were no grounds for any charges to be filed against Mr. Kennedy,” he said in a statement, adding that James is happy to move on from the matter and focus on his sobriety and DJ career.
Just last month, James released a statement pertaining to his legal drama, assuring his fans and followers that he was “committed to making meaningful changes in [his] life.”
“I am taking time to focus on my sobriety, personal growth, and being present for my loved ones. Navigating challenging moments is not easy, but I am determined to learn, grow, and move forward with the incredible support system around me,” he shared on December 17.
Vanderpump Rules will return to Bravo for season 12 with an all-new cast later this year.
