Billy Joel donates $50K to super PAC backing Andrew Cuomo

He’s in a New York state of mind.

Rocker Billy Joel has donated $50,000 to a super PAC backing Andrew Cuomo’s mayoral bid, according to records obtained by Page Six.

The Piano Man — who made the donation on April 2 — has been a Cuomo backer in the past. In 2018, he hosted a campaign dinner for the then-governor, 67, at his Centre Island estate in Oyster Bay. And in 2013, the music icon, 75, performed at a Cuomo birthday fund-raiser at Roseland Ballroom.

Cuomo is also the godfather of one of Joel’s daughters.

The $50K was donated via the William M Joel Revocable Trust.

According to records seen by Page Six, the Fix the City PAC has brought in a whopping $250,000 from media mogul Barry Diller, as well as another $250,000 from Third Point hedge-funder Daniel Loeb.

Records show other donators include art world mega-collector Alberto “Tico” Mugrabi ($25,000), fashion mogul Micheal Kors ($50,000), former Donald Trump staffer Anthony Scaramucci’s SkyBridge Capital ($100,000), Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross ($50,000), former Empire State Development chair Steven M. Cohen ($25,000), the Durst Organization ($100,000), moneyman Glenn Dubin ($25,000) and Walmart heiress Alice Walton ($100,000).

Other $250,000 donors — according to records filed with the city’s Campaign Finance Board — include Matthew Hulsizer, Suffolk Construction Company CEO John Fish, developer Peter Fine, RXR CEO Scott Rechler and Halmar International.

As a PAC, there is no limit to how much a donor can contribute to Fix the City. (If a candidate wants to receive in-kind donations from the city, each donor can give a max of $2,100.) Another PAC has been formed to support mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani, a lefty state assemblyman from Queens. Politico reported that Cuomo’s former rival Cynthia Nixon donated $5,000.
